Empowerment
I respect and admire this word because it is such a word of uprising to a stance of strength from the ashes of brokeness. I believe in the human spirit of the underdog and that just by pure will and determination someone can lift themselves to a higher place, one they never dreamed they would attain. I devour books with characters like this and see every movie with this theme because I will never cease to be amazed at the raw courage and strength it takes.
I have seen kids in my life rise above the chaining/binding power of meth and live to tell and be examples to others. I have seen women who have been verbally and physically abused refuse to take it anymore, stand tall and take on the world, accomplishing more than they ever dreamed they could. And I have seen men defeated in their lives with not one more reason to live find an ounce of hope that convinces them to believe and conquer.
- And better yet, these very same "underdogs" who beat the odds become our heroes and OUR reasons to live and breathe beyone what we believe we are capable. THEY EMPOWER US!

Lovely post! I'm glad you brought up the fact that empowerment can come by observing those who have it! Nicely done!

It is inspiring to learn of others who have faced tremendous odds to rise above their circumstances and face them.
P.S
I love the way you write.

I had a great time looking at Carole's Creations. I also think you've met your goals...

If we learn to train our eyes to see inspiring stories, we are up for a surprise to find many tales of sweet moments of winning, and they are empowering. We could draw strength and inspiration from these stories, and declare that yes, we, too, can!
I wish you well.

A splendid post... and most accurate in its conclusions, and uplifting in its spirit! ;)

A good post. I've studied many people and I've come to the conclusion that the greatest spirit to grasp empowerment comes out of extreme adversity.
Nothing drives a person on more than this meteoric rise. If, of course, they can grasp the will.

Empowerment had to come from within, after we've observed certain things from without.
